Overall this is a cool CD, very entertaining and marketable. The songs are short, sweet, fun and diverse and at nine tracks
running it at just over 30 minutes it’s fair to say that this album is a real throwback to the early days of rock music. As I said,
short, sweet simple, not overdone, let the songs speak for themselves. I’ve a feeling we will be hearing more from M.I.C. in the
future. Check them out at

You don’t find many hard rocking bands lurking in China these days. M.I.C.
are one such band and have just released their brilliant self-financed CD

M.I.C. – Made In China
This is a nine track CD, the production is solid and raw and the band
sound like they enjoy themselves. M.I.C. are Yvon Serre – Lead guitar and
vocals, Billy Ren – Bass,  Cris Yang ( drums), Marc McLeod – Keys. M.I.C.
play classic hard rock with a twise of modern styles.
The CD opens with the rather driving ‘Take A Look’, a gritty hard rocker, sharp guitars, cool rhythm and convincing vocals. This is
a cool melodic catchy tune in the vein of say Mass and a little Quiet Riot, good start. Next is ‘Every Other Day’ this is even better,
the song is sprinkled in keyboards which give it a cool melodic/AOR feel. This is very catchy and could be a mix of say Rick
Springfield and Cheap Trick. This is a typcial radio friendly, upbeat hooky song, maybe a touch of Santers with crisp guitars in
the mix as well.
really enjoyed this song, maybe a little early REO Speedwagon crossed with a southern ish vibe a’la Bob Seger and Blackfoot,
another potential radio ditty.‘I Don’t Need You’ once again has that Bob Seger swagger crossed with Cheap Trick and is
another fun pop/rock song with a driving catchy fun chorus. ‘Everything You Do’ take’s a left turn and starts off with slow jazzy
sax. The song then cranks out a fury of guitars and launches into a cool rocker. This song is a little more modern in style
coming at you in the vein of say Enuff Z’Nuff amongst others.
sound, a very catchy song again a little like Rick Springfield and Cheap Trick, good harmony vocals as well. Last track is called
‘Let’s Do It’, again this is a chunky catch fun rocker that crosses the 70’s and 80’s hard rock spectrum.
